Look at me! Two posts within the past three days….Apparently I’m on the road to recovery ..or something. Ha.

Anyway, simple outfit (what I do best! ;)) from the other week. Nothing exciting to write about as of yet. But, oh, the day is JUST beginning. It’s 8:30am nooow, class with the ex-bf at 10:30 (this hasn’t gotten any better…just a tad more awkward I believe. haha), volunteering at an ESL school, then eating something, then class til 8:40pm (eghhh! who has class this late?!?), thennnn perhaps a “movie night” with the boy.

Anyway, hope you all are having a swell week. Mine is rather blah. Sorry. As soon as something crazy exciting happens, I’ll be sure to let you know. ;)

CHICTOPIA!

Oh my, how I have missed you all. :)

Terribly sorry to leave you on that (what?) 2 week hiatus. Egh. :/ Between school, work, and this new guy that I’ve found, (ooh, and let’s not forget my 20 hours of volunteer work I’ve just started! haha) free time is quite scarce. Buuuuut, I thought I’d take a sec and upload some pics for the next couple days of what I’ve been wearing annnd update you on my life—whether you care or not. ;)

Let’s seeee, where to begin? Hmmm two weeks is an awful lot to condense into one post; however, I will try my best. First, work-wise, my prom dress selling gig is going quite well, though I am beginning to show some signs of outrage when the girls come in and attempt to try on the ENTIRE store. I kid you not, more than one girl wanted to try on 15+ dresses over the weekend. I’m like, seriously?? My pointer finger is calloused (gross, I know) from having to zip up so many stubborn zippers. Not fun.

Hmmm…as for this guy…things are all good so far. I made dinner for him last night (Pasta all’Amatriciana, roasted potatoes with garlic and rosemary, bruschetta, and bread pudding..haha). Did it real big apparently. Slightly nervous as he’d said he’d never had any girl cook for him before and I’d definitely never cooked for anyone outside my family…buuuut it all came out amazingly and he was super impressed. Sooo mission accomplished, I’d say. :) 8403927 points to me.

Anyway, I’ve missed you all! Thank you for all the wonderful comments and friend requests and favorites and messages, and fannage (wheww…that was a lot) in my absence!

I royally messed up the last post. Got so excited at the thought of even being at the conference in February that I just selected “Chictopia10” and then wrote all about my dating dilemmas and horrendous ex’s “interesting” fact…annnd forgot to post anything about Chictopia. Oops.

Annyway, this time I’m doing it right….thennnn informing you of my life. ;)

Chictopia. Oh, goodness. I remember waaaay back in the day, when I first joined…Sifting through the Style Gallery, getting excited if I had ya know, 3 comments and maybe some “Chic” votes. Since then, my style has really transformed, and I definitely have Chictopia to thank for that. Every day I’m inspired by all of you, encouraged to try new trends, to stick out, to dare to wear something other than the hoodies, jeans, and Uggs that dominate the style landscape of my city. I get excited to post, to see what my Chictopia friends have been wearing or trends they’ve been trying out, seeing how their lives are going. Chictopia has become more than a “Style site” for me..I mean, I’ve said this before, but I feel like I KNOW some of you. Haha, which seems creepy or weird, but serious. It’s true. That Chictopia can bring together so many people from all over the world who all appreciate fashion is amazing…..and I know this is not a complete sentence…It’s just whatever. ;) Anyway, I’m so glad to be a part of Chictopia, and it would be insane beyond all measures to actually be given the opportunity to be AT the conference in February. Beyond insane. Hah…Alright, that is all. :)

Today…hmmm… What happened in my life…

Well, I went out for cupcakes (random, yes, but delicious) with this guy that my BFF swore I was perfect for. Uhhh not so much. He’s not really my cup of tea, I suppose. I tell this to my sister and she goes, “What, he’s not Mexican”…Hah, I guess I have a thing for ethnic guys. Honest. Blonde, white boys just don’t do it for me….that, and I HATE having to tell jokes to make myself laugh. LAME, buddy.

Go to the grocery store, and proceed to get hit on by a man twice my age while perusing bagged almonds near the honey. He comes up to me, feigns looking at the honey and says “Ooh, saw the sign said ‘honey,’ wasn’t sure if it meant this or you”…..Wow, buddy…wow. What a line. There’s a winner. Bahah.

Going for pizza with the guyy tonight…not the two aforementioned, but rather my Colombian one. Exciting, excitingness. I do enjoy spending time with him and it appears to be mutual, but we will seeeee.

Welllll, hello there Chictopians!

Hope you all had a great week. This week was “back to school” week for me, sooo whew, bit rough. Went to my honors course yesterday, forgot to read the assignment, didn’t do the on-line activity, annnd to top it off, forgot to bring paper to class. Like, ya know, to take notes on. Geesh. SOMEbody needs to get organized. Hmmm I guess that’s what they made weekends for.

Alright. Soooo two good stories for you.

Monday. First class of the semester. Now, I had already checked the roster so it was no surprise when my ex-boyfriend came in and sat about 10 seats down from me. Me, who surrounded myself with about 5 of my guy friends. But that’s beside the point…Anyway, so the professor says we’re going to do a an icebreaker.. Introduce yourself and tell an interesting fact. Sooo it gets to my ex, he introduces himself and then this fabulous bit of information comes spewing forth out of his mouth…..“Hm…an interesting fact…well, my ex-girlfriend is in this class, so I’m not quite sure how that’s going to work out.” . . . . I was like, “Wtf? Did that REALLY just happen?” Uuuummm yeah. Now, is there a REASON he felt he needed to bring that up? It was like a year ago. Seriously. Annd he’s still dating the girl he cheated on me with sooo really? Was that necessary? Egh. Boys. (Note: “boys” not “men”).

Anyway, that was quite a day. Second story. The continuation to my last post…. hahah..for all of you dying to know more about this mystery man I have been seeingggg… :)

First, for xivy, some background info on this guy:
He’s my age, tall, dark, and handsome. From Colombia sooo oooobviously speaks Spanish. So that’s some bonus points. No accent, which would have been like, double extra bonus points, but whatev…he’s cute enough without. ;)

So, movie night on Wednesday night….Our “second date” if you will. I’ll spare you the details. Haha, but it was nice. He definitely became more confident in I don’t know, “making the moves” haha nothing serious but like putting his arm around me which was nice. I’m sick of waiiiiting and waiiiiting for guys who never make the move. I’m quite traditional so I’d rather not make that first move, but I’ll definitely lay down the hints (and lots of them!) if I’m interested. So I was happy he picked up on it. Hooowever, he did say, “Relationships are complicated….My next one will probably be THE one [like as in marriage]”…so yeah, I’m picking up a desire to avoid commitment from this one. Which is…well, not exactly fantabulous considering if I’m going to be making time for a guy I’d like to know we were so-called “Facebook Offical”…you know? Eh, we’ll see…still too early to know for sure. Buuut I will keep you updated because I know you’re all dying to know about my love life. Haha jkjk of course! ;)

Sooo I’m pretty sure I’m becoming known as “that one girl who takes all her pictures in the mirror”…Haha. In my early days of posting here on Chictopia, I felt bad for not having some of those sweet background settings that most of you have. I was like, “Dang, all they get to see is me and my exciting beige carpet….hmmm yeah.” But now, I’m thinking that this setting (aka my wonderful $5 Target mirror) makes me a bit unique. When I sift through the Style Gallery, I love being able to call whose picture it is just by the setting or way the photo was taken without even looking at the name of the Chictopian who posted it. It makes them stand out and hopefully you all aren’t too upset by my lack of changing background. One day, (perhaps), I will take an outdoor photo. Until then, you will have to enjoy my lovely carpet and reflected self. ;)

Annnnyway, this here outfit. Well, I suppose it is a bit of a variation of the one I wore last niiiiight on my date. Hm. That’s right. The guy I’d been sending those signals to fiiiinally (maybe) got the hint and asked me (sort of, I mean, I had to help him along a bit) out. Finally. I was about to lose all hope. Then, I decided to make it happen. So we went downtown (he drove 45 minutes from his house at 9 o’clock at night) for hot chocolate and about 3 hours of chatting/getting to know each other. Twas quite a good time…but gee, you should’ve saw the ending (bear in mind this is the first time we’ve held a conversation for more than 2 minutes)…we leave the cafe, we’re outside, saying how we both had a good time, blah blah, we hug, then he’s standing there looking at me all bright eyed and waaaaiiiiiting, waiiiiiiiting for me to kiss him. It was so blatantly obvious that I couldn’t help but laugh a bit on the way to my car. Of course, I played it cool and didn’t kiss him (I’m not one for kissing on the first date), but he took it well. I think he’s still hopeful. Haha, we’ll see how it goes. Also, my BFF is trying to set me up with some guy who she swears would be perfect for me. I swear, sometimes my love life=the Dust Bowl (i.e. dead, to the extreme) and then the flood gates burst and or something and I have about 403770 guys to choose from (wow, horrendous metaphor, hah).

On a separate note: quick shoutout to my Chictopia BFF xivy who I definitely recommend visiting!

Hi everyonnne!

First, a shoutout to everyone who has added me as a favorite, friended me, or even just left a comment! Love hearing from you all and it’s insanely flattering to be up there in the Style Icon gallery again this month!!

Nowwww, I’m trying to figure out how to wear this fur scarf thing. I popped it on like this to see how it would look thennnn I wore this outfit miiinus the scarf to the art museum for a little bit of culture and such. Second picture included to illustrate this, plus I liked that crazy expression on my face and thought I’d let you enjoy it so I wouldn’t be the only one laughing at myself.

Soooo today. Quick rant, promise. Me, walking myself about a quarter mile to the gym with the intent of running 5 miles today…arriving….and finding both treadmills in use. One by a girl actually using it and the other occupied by some lady walking. Eghhh, I can deal with the girl ACTUALLY using the machine, but goooodness lady, can you not just, I don’t know, walk back and forth in your apartment or something? Soo yeah, thanks for ruining my workout lady. Ooooh also, I love the guys who come to the gym, do about 10 reps of weights, put them back down, INSIST on getting a drink of water, then repeat…like 12 times. Really?! Are you THAT parched from lifting weights for a total of like 2 minutes…hmm. Ok.

Also, the super stylish froschface007 tagged me for the Beautiful Blogger deal, soooo A)you should go visit him :). and B) Here are my 7 random things:

1. 98% of the time the nail polish on my nails is light pink shimmery, a color made exclusively by meee because I’ve never been able to find the shade I like pre-made.
2. Blogs I visit daily: What I Wore, Style Scrapbook, The Blonde Salad.
3. I really try to eat healthy…Seriously, when I go back home, I fight with my parents about their poor food choices. Well, not FIGHT fight, but we chat…noisily..about it. Haa…Geesh, I’m just trying to prevent heart attacks here!
4. I’ve been involved with a study abroad program through my university for the past 3 years. Spring Break, I will be back in Cuernavaca, Mexico, as a program leader! So psyched. Practicallllly my second home. :)
5. I am SERIOUSLY considering taking a year (or 6 months…whatever I can afford, haha) off after graduating in 2011 and traveling again. This summer (as many of you already know) I did a month and a half solo trip through London, Paris, Cadiz, Rome, and Assisi…Now, I need to go back and hit the places I didn’t see. Note: “NEED” not want.
6. Eventually, I want to end up in Chicago. Love that city. And seriously, who doesn’t love the BEAN??? (only some of you will know what I’m referring to…it’s ok) ;)
7. I’ve been living in my current apartment since August and the living room looks EXACTLY the way it has since I moved in. Nothing on the walls, no curtains, Just the furniture. I really need to fix this.
