Cosmopolitan by accident, a reluctant fashionista, often can’t find what I want and go ahead and design it myself. Unfortunately my sewing skills don’t quite live up to my imagination! I believe in buying one-off items on instinct, whether they are in fashion or not at the time. My tastes are eclectic, I can rarely face wearing a look that is too matchy, I have to rebel and throw something completely unsuitable in there more often than not like biker boots, or a bowler hat.

I cannot afford not to dress according to my mood. It may well ruin my day if I am careless! I refuse to be formulaic and plan an outfit the night before, because really, where’s the adventure in that? As a result, my son is often to school five minutes late, but he doesn’t care, as long as he is permitted to give his opinion on the Chictopians every now and then!

Favourite quote regarding my dress sense is from my musician boyfriend. I asked him to tell me what kind of an event we were going to so that I could dress appropriately. His response: “I have no doubt that you will dress completely inappropriately, whatever event we may attend!”

These people. They lack imagination, hee hee!
