I’m back from my Arkansas getaway and have begrudgingly returned to the modern world. Located in the heart of America’s Victorian mountain village and on the trolley car and horse-drawn carriage routes, the place that I called home was in the perfect spot: an easy stroll to the town’s art galleries, sidewalk cafés and downtown shopping district. It was lovely to hear horse hooves clop down the street, frogs croak through the night and water bubble through the pond that was located in the side yard.

I packed some of my more recent vintage finds with me to take advantage of the amazing location, fully prepared to embrace the opportunity to step back in time. I was not disappointed. I’ll be sharing plenty more from my trip over the next few days. For now, some photos from my Gunne Sax shoot for Orphaned Apparel. (The dress will also be available at www.orphanedapparel.com very soon!) The giant tree stumps were on my street, and the window in the bottom photo is from the house I stayed in.

Taken the day the neighbor’s tree fell on my car. Figured I might as well take advantage of the event! ;)

Came across the bird-print blouse at my local thrift store and fell in love with it. Something about looking down and seeing swallows flying across you makes the day a bit lovelier, especially those days where trees take out your transportation.
