About My Style

My style is minimalistic, androgynous & simple. I like neutral, monochromatic colors. I mix antique pieces with modern pieces, if possible. My fashion statements are usually sincere & sophisticated. I am very frugal.

[take a gander at my diary.]

My Daily Reads   NEWDaily Reads displays all of the posts by apricot_tea's favorite chictopians on one page. See who apricot_tea reads each day.
Favorite Brands
I'm not a big brand wearer, really. If I like something, I'll get it, regardless of the brand. I typically choose comfort & practicality, over expense & glamour.

Favorite Stores
American Apparel, H&M, Target, DSW & stores that take effort to find treasures, such as Ross & thrift stores.

my very first feature.   Add as Favorite Photo

I have been terribly bad at updating my little blog here; I have a tendency to forget that it exists & then I become reminded when I receive another friend request or sporadic comment.

Nevertheless [if any one cares, I mean] I am still alive & well, & posting weekly on my own blog, apricot-tea.com. I definitely recommend that people go there instead, as I’ve been updating my outfits & musings there almost religiously.

AND… I’ve been featured at the lovely supermelon, in their Real Style segment! I am so excited to have my first feature there & wanted to share my excitement with all of you. :]

Oh, I almost forgot to include the linkage! Click here to see my interview!

simple apparel, sans makeup.   Add as Favorite Photo

I was in a lazy, yet stylish mood. & this is what transpired. I snapped the pictures even though I felt like a homeless man. But after wearing it all day, I liked the lounge appeal. Even if it does make me look homeless. :]

For a brief “explanation” of this ensemble, please go here.

I’m feeling blue today & don’t feel like pretending I’m glamorous or special.

grandma blouse.   Add as Favorite Photo

I found this blouse at a thrift store years ago. It looked terribly gaudy at first glance, with the sequins & everything, but I purchased it anyway.

The first time I ever wore it was to a wedding shower with jeans. I got many compliments on it, in spite of the obnoxious sequins & the mesh material. I don’t know why, but it just works. It shouldn’t work… but it does. & I adore it.

shirt & jean shorts are both from the same thrift store; shoes, from Ross; cardigan, from Target.

knit tunic & my doggie's booty.   Add as Favorite Photo

A simple outfit, yes, but appropriate for the muggy weather we’ve been having in LA lately.

My doggie, Sofie Aiko, is in the background. It would have been nice for her to say “hello!” to the camera, rather than flashing her goodies. Pardon her. :]

knit tunic, undertank & headband, from Target; shorts & sandals, from Ross; jewelry is miscellaneous.

grey ankle boots; my new favorite.   Add as Favorite Photo

I love these boots that I found at Target (of all places). They are very comfortable, & not at all confining. They have buttons down the side & a teal color inside. My husband says they would look better with jeans, but I like the concept of boots with shorts; especially with this detestable heat. =]

shirt, from American Apparel; shorts, from Ross; ankle boots, from Target; necklace is second-handed from my grandmother; bracelet is second-handed from my mother.
