Soooo today is my 21st birthday! I decided to dress a little bit mod, and my mom and I went to the Academy of Awesome (or Science, whatever). So much cool stuff there. This woman was shaking the wire that a chameleon was on and my mom and I were not having that. I wanted to start shaking her and ask her if she liked it. My mother decided to take the more mature route and told her that she shouldn’t do that because they’re very sensitive creatures. We used to have chameleons and breed them, so we’d have all these little babies and they were so cute, they’d fall asleep on your finger and their little legs would dangle down. Adorable.
At lunch I tried to order a glass of champagne, but the place we were eating only had beer and wine, which I don’t really like, so I went to the restaurant/bar downstairs, the Moss Room (so cool, there’s moss on the walls), and they said I couldn’t take glasses outside of the bar, so the bartender offered me a shot instead. I’m so used to New Zealand shots, where a double shot is a size of an American single shot, and she gave me a double shot (American size) of Patron and was like “Happy birthday, it’s on the house!” That is what I’m fucking talking about. Academy of Awesome!
Then I had dinner and champagne with the family. Tuesday isn’t a very good 21st birthday night, especially when all your friends are out of town or have school :(
The real party is going to be on Friday though, so stay tuned.
Oh, and the 3rd picture is of my mother. She’s a cutie. And so are those froggies!

I wore this to my boyfriend’s grandmother’s birthday dinner. She’s so adorable! I love grandmas, but Nick and I have especially lovable ones. Pretty awkward dinner conversation though… Nick thinks people don’t understand me and my humor sometimes and so they think I’m just really weird and self centered. I’m not though, I promise! Well maybe a little weird but you know whatever.
I got the hair piece from Boring Sydney on Etsy, and I HIGHLY recommend her products. She even sent me a hand written note thanking me for my support. I have pretty fine hair and this baby stayed in place all night.
Look at my sweet new purse! I love it so much.

So I was talking to my mom again while I was taking pictures, this time in person. And I didn’t have time to take a picture before I left the house, so you only get to see very tired post work Ally.
I helped my bestie Rachael out at a sample sale for the store she works for, Sample Angel, to get the word out about the sale and then to help get together the gift bags for the VIP list, helping out in the dressing room and all that good stuff. I had a lot of fun, her boss kept buying us drinks and there was free sushi and desserts. Everyone was trying to get bangs because there was a very sweet girl from Posh there doing people’s bangs for free, and everyone else was doing it. I held my ground though and didn’t get them. Rachael did though and they look AMAZING, we decided she looks like Jenny from GG now.
I got this Dutchy purse and A. Chang dress for FREE because I told her boss I liked them and she was just like “Oh well then they’re yours! You earned them!” I was shocked. And then I got some free Shu Uemura lip gloss from the left over gift bags. Then, when I got home I found out that I got the job at Lululemon! All in all, a very successful night.
Not so successful: Rachael and I almost getting kicked out of the Thai restaurant we went to after the event for throwing food at each other. She fucking started it, I was just protecting myself, kthx.
NOTE: I’ve been taking some seriously bad pictures lately, I’m sorry!

I went out to dinner with my good friend and fellow vegetarian, Allison.
I’ve been posting pictures of outfits that I so don’t even like that much, and I have no idea why. So sorry for that.
Oh and I sort of diyed these shoes by adding the buttons to the front.

I’ve gone through today in a bit of a haze. I’m very tired and just not in a good mood at all, and for some reason I always end up wearing this sweater when I feel like that. It’s either bad luck or comforting. My grandma gave it to me, so let’s go with comforting.
I got in on some power tool action last night and hung curtains on my new bed. Viola!
