Another Friday night at Amps, with some lovely boys and girls, I am still recovering. I actually managed an outfit photo, can’t believe it!
This was this dress’s first outing – I won it on ebay a couple of months ago. It’s a simple t-shirt style a-line, stiff but silky, and makes me feel like something from Alice In Wonderland, for some reason. And the buttons down the from are rather dandy. Th neckline, however is not too good so I jazzed it up with this vintage floral scarf.
Hooray!

Well this was taken with my brand spanking new camera, I am rather obsessed. Anyway, I took my boyfriend shopping for clothes and such last night, and wore these jodphur like pants that I scored at the Perth Designer Garage Sale yesterday (held where Popsicle was during the Perth Fashion Festival). The legs appear a little uneven but I think it was just me standing weird. My boyfriend took this in his hallway when we got home.
The shoes (which were just black round toe flats) were off at that stage.
I wore this outfit again today, since I didn’t come home to change, and spent the morning photographing my boyfriend’s band.

Today some harem-like pants that I won on ebay arrived…
So I did some experimenting, naturally. Let’s face it, I’ve barely worn any pants other than jeans. I just have no idea where I would wear them now! This is mostly because you can only wear them with heels.
But I really am in love.
I think maybe I will invest in some oxford heels to dress them down in winter and some wedges to dress them down in spring. Just to suit bloody conservative Perth… doubt it!

This is what I’m wearing today to check out Popsicle, a temporary fashion gallery/shop thing in Northbridge as a part of the Perth Fashion Festival. It’s an old bank that’s been done up and showcases WA designers. Im excited! And of course while in Northbridge hitting up some of my old favourites, even though I’m not really looking for anything in particular so probably won’t buy anything.
I love the chunky metal cuff that I’m wearing. Only thing is it’s very noisy and catches on anything delicate… I picked it up from my favourite vintage shop, which is now closed, called Tresor in Perth.
This outfit does feel a little boring… I put on a little red scarf after the pics to ‘jazz it up’ but I dunno…
Suggestions?

I fell for the zips on this skirt, and the paperbag waist. Just another day at uni… but of course didn’t wear these shoes, because I’d only be setting myself up for shunning stares of jean tee and sneaker wearing students.

Sandals and Simplicity Add as Favorite Photo

Work again today. The main point of this photo is for the sandals… I’m trying to avoid ‘gladiators’ as they are about the become Perth’s most overdone fashion item, just like the bogan shirt did in winter. These sandals are strappy without screaming “gladiator”, are suede and have studs… very different than what I would usually buy. And a bargain too, were $99.95 at Sportsgirl and I got them half price.
My outfit today was very simple and pure comfort, with my not-too-skinny Mavi jeans and oversized tee, with another loose kind of top underneath. Days like this allow me to prove to myself that I still have what it takes to compose a simple outfit, and prove to myself that I can truely appreciate flat shoes.
And I’d also like to take this opportunity to rave about Mavi jeans. They are SO darn comfortable, and although nothing can be my three year old sportsgirl skinny jeans, these come oh-so close. This pair aren’t skinny but just straight leg, which is nice and slouchy (I’m digging that at the moment), and I have a light blue pair of skinny ones that are equally as comfy.
If your in Perth grab a pair for $50 (reduced from $150) at Masterbrands in Harbour Town. I recommend it!
