Wear it out.   Add as Favorite Photo

I’m determined to get one more wear out of this bubble-skirted dress, before 09 comes in because 1) when can I wear this dress out again? and 2) apparently, bubbles are on their way out :(

The dress was snatched up at a discount sale for $20 (a steal) because I just couldn’t resist the black with a pop of colour. Because of the silhouette and the bow, I may not be able to wear it out again without looking weird (but who cares, I probably will because I love it so much) I wore a plain white tee underneath to make it slightly more casual and party-able. Also, will not have to worry about it sliding down too much because the chest is way. too. big. I had to keep on pulling it up before the self-timer ran out.

The hairband is from Le Chateau. I’m usually not one for hair accessories (another resolution to make) but it was sparkly. With a bow. And exactly the same colour as the trim on my dress, I couldn’t say no.

I considered wearing this out with black Converse (would be borrowed) but I can’t deal with the loss of three 1/2 inches and I feel like that’s extremely…Lily Allen-ish. Not in a bad way, but it just wouldn’t be me.

(Ugh, and I just noticed that my right leg has two unseemly scars from when I fell. I was stepping onto a bus off the sidewalk, and I thought the snow was solid- apparently it wasn’t, and I slipped and banged my shin on the bus step. Toronto municipal shovelling services, why you gotta be like that?)

Happy New Year’s, everyone!

I look like a hipster reject :)

The shirt is actually from the office-wear section of H&M. The shirt is WESC (We are the superlative conspiracy)- a skater brand. Black skinnies are Flying Monkey- a currently unknown demographic brand (I’m horrible). And yay for my new (and first pair of, I’m ashamed to admit) Converse!

In short, the appropriate label for this outfit is CONFUSED. I built it largely off the tiger t-shirt and immediately grabbed a pair of skinny jeans, because I woke up and MY ROOM WAS FREEZING. Skirts, no. The shirt happened to be on top of a freshly laundered pile of clothes, so I put it on right away. Lo and behold! I…kind…of…look not that bad.

By the way, I didn’t REALLY wear the glasses out :) They’re 3D glasses from when I saw Bolt 3D with a bunch of friends; I took the lenses out. When did they get so classy? Last time I saw a 3D movie, the frames were paper.

I really love the t-shirt; it’s so simple but I adore the tiger. I also got another WESC t-shirt which I might be falling in love with even more. CHAMELIONSTER RAWR. Any suggestions on how to incorporate it into an outfit?

NO. I’m sorry :( I have not attained thigh high black boots.

However, these just might be the next best thing. I chopped my black jeans that just don’t fit anymore into black shorts- didn’t regret it too much as they were H&M, not top notch quality. I was left with a large bottom part, as my legs are short and I had to fold up the jeans to wear them. I feel like I’m channeling a Japanese schoolgirl, what with the baggy look.

So I guess that makes them…uh…not sure yet :( But they look cool :)

The Ralph Lauren shirt, I got vintage shopping post Boxing Day- mania. Am still thinking of how to wear it with normal pants, because the sides scoop up right above my waistband which makes tucking in impossible.

Forever F21   Add as Favorite Photo

I took the leap on Boxing day…and FINALLY bought a hipster shirt :) from F21. Because I’m too cheap for AA, and also because this is the 2nd time I’ve gone to F21. There’s only 3 locations (remotely) close to where I live!

I’m actually a little ashamed to say I’ve never had a truly comfy plain tee to go with anything, but I guess that leads into my new year’s resolution: to buy more basics. I really need to invest in more tees, tights, and plain dresses/skirts instead of buying bright hoodies and distressed jeans that don’t match with anything.

The skirt is from gap and a little too loose at the waist. I’m contemplating how to wear it without looking like a total secretary or schoolgirl.

The picture below is a possibility for lazy days in the future…

I think this is actually a little too short on me. Also, my mother said I was disappearing when wearing this. Maybe I should stop wearing sweaters as dresses…

Winter, why must you make things so dreary?

Wore this outfit to work on Dec. 24.
