Well, I don’t really have any good excuses for staying away from Chictopia for so long. Though I’m always lerking, I’ve just been too busy to bother my mother to take a picture. School started a couple weeks ago and I’m living in denim shorts and tanks. Probably will be till October. Noticing everyone is desperate for fall to arrive but I’ve been enjoying wearing as little as possible. Rainy today, running errands and watching the U.S. Open.

Today was a nice day, though hot. Ciara and I went thrifting downtown and I spent a record-breaking three dollars. Two shirts (one of which I’m wearing in the picture) and an adorable cat watch. The top is Ralph Lauren and I almost didn’t buy it because it’s a bit small and lacking in length. However, I couldn’t resist the stripes and lovely boatneck. I went for the sailor motif with a little bit of polka dots to break up the stripes. The ship’s wheel clip-ons were a gift. The belt used to be my mother’s.

I would like to wish everyone a happy Friday! Today I’m getting my haircut and I’ve decided to skip the pixie. I’ll probably get it in the future, but unfortuantly it’s not for me. I’m going for a layered bob with a bang instead; I’ll post a little before and after tommorow. I’ll be spending the rest of the day at the mall with a friend and tonight we’re going to see The Dark Knight. We’ve been looking forward to the movie for a while, and I’m excited to see Heath Ledger as The Joker. I’ve heard it’s an Oscar-worthy performance. It’s sweltering hot of course, so I’ve decided to skip the bangles. The necklace was a gift and is made out of semi-precious stones. The bangles and rings are assorted vintage and new. I got the aviators a couple years back from Walmart for five bucks.

I’ve been living in this dress ever since I got it Monday. I adore floral anything, and I’m extremely happy that I found it. It’s perfect for summer, the style, the fabric and especially the print. There’s also a lot of color, which is great since it’s so easy to accessorize. Sorry about the aqua overload, I was going a little match crazy.

Back again after a brief vacation of sleeping and buying things. The pants used to be my mother’s, and are extremely comfortable and fit just right. Found a new favorite lipstick, CoverGirl in ‘Vintage Wine’. It has been hotter than usual, even though storm clouds are always looming overhead. I decided to make up for the black pants with a light tank top. The lovely little bag was a gift.

I’ve been at it again kids. A couple of weeks back I have a post of my version of a wonderful ensemble from a fellow chictopian. The whole idea was based off of one thing, the little ‘hi!’ pin that I had made. This time I just did it for fun. I love how the_kitten (http://www.chictopia.com/photo/show/3196) transformed three simple items into such an effortless yet striking silhouette. She also mentioned Alexander Wang’s cutoffs in the same post, as hers resembled them greatly. I found them in a photograph and decided to meld the two styles together. Taking the silver chains and bleached cutoffs from Wang and the bright shoes and loose shirt from the_kitten. Unfortunately the cutoffs are too small to button, but I don’t mind it much since I’m just experimenting. Later, I changed into shorts that fit and it still kept the original essence of the outfit.
Shirt (Mom’s) – Crazy Horse
Cutoffs (?) – Hurley
Pumps ($5) – Dyeables
