It’s been awhile! Been busy (new job, new hairdo, new perceptions) and not presentable of late. Salvaged this stripey vintage top (?) from the Salvation Army few bus stops down from where I live. It was tagged 4XL, and I really had no idea how to or who would wear it, but I saw potential in it! I gave it hope! My friends and boyfriend commented I look very witchy in it and I love it. It gives that very mysterious touch to my outfits.
I really have no idea what else to say over here but I’m gonna spend the rest of my Saturday doing: http://www.fingertipstv.com/ourmakes.php?makeid=222&step=2

The change in seasons make fashion/dressing up fun. Only the people who live near the equator will live in envy. The topical weather makes you want to lazy around in the shade in a tank, cut off denims and slippers. Dressing to match the seasons seems so much fun! Scarfs and beanies in the spring, bikinis in the summer sun, knitted deconstructed sweaters over boyfriend’s long sleeve tee in the autumn breeze and leopard printed coats with matching earmuffs in the winter snow. Maybe the most interesting thing I could wear is wellington boots during the rainy seasons in December. That’s the most excitement we will get from the skies over here.
Another thing I admire about other countries, esp USA and Japan, is that there are massive stores just for 2nd hand clothes. Over here in Singapore, thrifting is finding a needle in a haystack, not like there’s much to look through anyway.

I’m just testing water here. Haha not looking to make much of an impact. Just gonna sit in awe and browse through the other inspiring outfits out there in Chictopia. Basically what I did here was that I took a men’s tank (Renoma) and just cut up the sides and tied them, slashed the back (but you can’t see them here) and added a few studs around the neckline. Paired this with a regular cuffed denim shorts, stockings, double watches, studded wrist cuff and boots (which is not pictured). Nothing interesting here, boring hair, boring outfit, boring person etc. People do stare when I walk past. Not the “OMG SHE’S HOT I’M BURNING” kind of stare. It’s more towards the “I can’t believe she’s wearing that, totally doesn’t match her face! Wear a demure dress please” kind of look. But why should I? I dress the way I want and not how the world thinks that I should look like.
I’m wedged between a plus sized and a regular sized model. Small waist and a big butt. Does not go well with the society who believes that stick thin is the only good look. I’m searching for acceptance for girls size UK 10 and up. We’re girls too, give us same privileges and chances as those reed thin models do! Take pride in the beauty of bountiful bust and bouncy butts! What’s all the discrimination? “No YOU can’t wear this, only those skinny girls can. Try THIS! Hides the fats.” The distorted image of what a beautiful body should look like is projected out in the media, straight to those little girls. In turn they will run to the loo, hurling out their dinner, in hopes of achieving skin and bones.
Love your curves ladies, don’t let anyone tell you what to do or what to wear. Be happy with who you are, rather than fretting about what you should be like.
Okay am getting very preachy here. Need… To… Vent…
