She was so well dressed in her day!
I first got this hand-me-down a decade ago; way too young and gangly and sheepish to be understanding its full potential.
She and dad travelled extensively, so this tunic is from India. It’s semi-transparent, and breezy, and perfect for the gales of windiness that is occurring in Vancouver currently.

Two posts in one week! Dynamite.
So this is my first time wearing the dress, after purchasing it with a GC from my favorite upscale consignment shop. This giraffe thing is fun; would it be too much to throw my leopard cardigan over it, and walk the streets like a sartorial character from The Jungle Book?
You can’t see it from the pictures, but the fabric is silky goodness, which juxtaposes well with the toughness of denim. The necklace is fuzzy, but it has the letter “L”..first initial of my last name, and what I got for me and the sister since she is off traipsing around in Italy, and since I move away to London in the fall. Sniff. End of an era.

I’m terrible at this posting thing. Whole months go by without me picking up the camera.
Here’s something I wear a lot; the color of the leggings are always rotating. The eggplant picked up pretty hues from the scarf my mother gave me recently.
I hope to be more (frequent) and interesting, soon.

Hi. I’m done my practicum. Which means I have (sort of) free time again. Which means, while you missed out on the joys of my teacher outfits (which I assure you, ushered in a new era of things that had NOTHING to do with khaki), I am now going to (sort of maybe) try to be more diligent in taking pictures of my outfits.
That said, this is what I wore last night to celebrate the end of the 13 weeks of teaching wonderful children.

When one is quietly waiting out a broken heart, one wears leopard print and favorite necklaces and pearl earrings, and hopes for lots of beauty.

I wore this last night to hang out with my suburban friends who don’t dress as I do. This will come as a shock to you, but some people are uncomfortable with the idea of buying “second hand clothing.” (in brackets because that’s how they probably see it in their mind’s eye..)
Anyway. I got called a picnic table, amongst other things.
But I love the colors, and would like to leave 2008 less drab and more color and more LIFE than I found it.
So suck it, friends.
