Here’s my pseudo menswear-inspired look, complete with fishnet stockings. Ironically, a few of my favs were quoted in the February issue of Teen Vogue about their tomboy style.
“So much of pulling off the tomboy look is about confidence.” – Alexa Chung
“I like oversize anything — I’d rather shop the men’s department.” – Erin Wasson
“My fashion sense comes from my father. He was always a very stylish man.” – Chloe Sevigny
aMEN!

Wishing to spruce up my typical blazer look, I decided to throw on my gray suede-like fringe Billabong vest over a cropped Urban Outfitters blazer. I’m a fan of layering vests under blazers, but I’ve never tried wearing one over them.
Conclusion: I like the look. It’s a simple fix to transform your typical blazer ensemble.
BTW, when most people are dying their hair darker for the winter, I decide I want to go lighter. Always a constant in my life that makes things exciting, Change is definitely one of my best friends.

I’m still feeling blazers/tops/sweaters with structured shoulders. Since I’m petite, anything that gives me a proportional boost, including in the shoulders, is a plus. Scored huge with this Funktional velvet blazer from Nasty Gal and can’t wait to next pair it with a bodycon dress/skirt.

Without being able to afford the Acne wedges, I got the Jeffrey Campbell Alexa Wedge Bootie from LF Stores. They also come in black patent leather and a cream color. They are amazing, and more importantly, I feel amazing when I wear them. Comfort + height = Shoe bliss. When I bought the shoes from LF Stores, I also picked up this bohemian style top and thought it contrasted well with the booties and my American Apparel zipper leggings.

These fuzzy leopard print shorts from Pixie Market and this hole-y sweater from H&M are my new favorite wardrobe additions. Since the shorts are warm and fuzzy, I’ve convinced myself that they will be suitable for winter wear (with tights) and look forward to pairing them with an oversized blazer and boots.
*Sorry I go in and out on here. I’m going to post more regularly from now on. Thanks for leaving such sweet comments!

Regardless of having a stacked wardrobe, I always find myself gravitating toward some variation of this look. I guess you can say the combination of a biker jacket, skinny pants and combat boots makes me feel the most comfortable in my own skin.
