i love the silhouettes of the 1920s-1950s. yes, i know that’s a lot of variety but i love the shapes. i’m totally in love with the styles of the 50s and early 60s, and the gung-ho “golden age” of american consumer culture…from disneyland to the music to even the pin curls and red lipstick. lifestyle-wise, though, i’m a modern-day hippie…the 60s are where it’s at, because i’m not so sure i could handle the conservatism of 50s life.
i’m a girlie-girl.. i dislike pants at the best of times, and would much rather throw on 3 pairs of tights than jeans, but sometimes, it happens. while i do wear shorts, my tops are almost always tucked in, it’s my new thing. i love vintage-y looking dresses, shoes, purses, sweaters, whatever… something about that “stole it from my mom who stole it from my grandma” thing really gives me hope for humanity. i also like to add in a little bit of grunge or bohemian into my feminine. yeah, florals, polka dots, and lace are pretttty much my m.o
and if i must wear shoes, they must be cute. if there were any piece of clothing that i would want to be the only person to own, it would be shoes. i contradict myself, i know. i guess you could call me a complex individual.
