Dear Chictopia, I miss you (see above title). And since you were nice enough to send me this lovely dress via Chic Rewards, I figured I’d ignore looming college deadlines for an hour or two or four and put something new on this page. I wore this on Friday after receiving the dress on Thursday (wooo speedy shipping!) along with a bow made of some tinsel I found in the basement (RECESSIONISTA! just kidding, i hate that phrase more than…anything, really.)
Oh and my new favorite silver shoes and a healthy dose of silver glitter eyeshadow (see closeup), which is probably enough shiny for a decent pass at this here glitter contest going on? (I feel like such an old fogey for having been gone so long and not recognizing these new contests or different parts of the uploading process, kind of like when my aunt Karen went to Argentina right before Walkmans became popular and when she got back everyone was walking around with headphones on their ears and she though the world had become some sort of creepy future dystopia or something. Yeah GOOD STORY ELIZABETH)
And I’m pretty sure this outfit makes me look like an old school marm next to all the shiny NYE dresses on that page…but that’s OK. My actual New Year’s Eve outfit will probably be something with many marshmallow-like layers, in order to watch fireworks on the Common and not freeze to death. And that’s OK too.
Speaking of freezing to death, I braved this morning’s blizzard (ok, that’s a slight exaggeration) to get first dibs on Rodarte for Target…mission accomplished. It was a pretty epic adventure – I ended up getting the blue sheer dress and the black lace cardigan. Oh and some chocolate bars, because it’s Target and I can. I would’ve gotten some footie pajamas too ($12.99!) but they were out of my size…what a shame.

Serendipitously stumbled upon this song (Seventeen by Marina & the Diamonds) a few days before my 17th birthday – probably just a coincidence, but a pretty darn cool one. I’ve been listening to her ad naseaum this whole weekend and this song is officially stuck in my head.

Friday- something badass, something frilly, something redwhite&blue, something shiny, and a generous helping of red lipstick – ie. a few of my favorite things. Was gonna wear heels but I was so tired that I fell asleep in the bathtub later that night, the sleep-loss equivalent of rock bottom. Except that’s so much more melodramatic than it needs to sound.
Saturday- shinyyyyyy
my friends made me wear this tiara because i’m the birthday girl or so they said
woooooooooo incoherence

ps considering how tired i am, it’s actually a miracle that i posted this today, so, you’re welcome. :D

Soooo I’ve just spent a month being productive and getting all my work done and being serious and totally on top of things and responsible. And this is what I have to show for it. Me and my friends goofing around in fur coats and flashing fake gang signs.
Totally productive, I’m telling you.

Sorry for up and disappearing this week. This whole college-process thing is pretty hectic, and my mom says I have to go to bed before 11 if I want her to buy me shoes online. (That sounds really bratty and teenager-y, oops.)
Hey, remember my flapper dress? Yeah, good times. I wore it again, with my jean jacket that I wear way too often, so that’s cool. What’s new with you? I see you got a (slightly) new layout, nice. It looks good! No, really, it does. I’m happy for you.
So I’m taking a little break for a week or two – all this work and stress is piling up and I need to focus on being productive and getting into college and sleeping. But I’ll make sure I post my Halloween costume (TWIGGY! Are you as excited as I am?) and I’ll be back soon. That’s a promise.
Talk to ya later

aaargh I just wrote a whole post here but then it wouldn’t upload so I had to go back and copy-and-paste the text…but when I did ctrl-A to “select all”, my finger hit the Q by mistake. And voila – goodbye Firefox, goodbye blog post. After screaming “FUCK YOU” at my laptop (an increasingly frequent habit of mine – which is probably a reflection on the laptop’s declining capability as well as my use of angry words) and pondering why the Q and A keys were ever placed next to each other in the first place, I decided to just write this instead of trying to replicate what I’d just written. Now that text is lost in the vacuum of space somewhere, and nobody will ever know what it says.
But it was something along the lines of this: there’s a Seinfeld quote about Elaine’s communist boyfriend where she says “Maybe he’s just well-read” and then George says that he might be “well-RED”…yeah, it was funnier the first time. So that’s what made me want to wear this red shirt. The end.

Wore this on Friday and subsequently left on a college road trip with no internet access, free time, etc…although there was an abundance of good food. Deli sandwiches and amazing macaroons in New York, Philly cheesesteak and cheesecake (har!) in Philadelphia, and free coffee and donuts at a rest stop somewhere in Connecticut. That sounds sketchy, but it was a local boy scout troop with a donation jar and stuff, so it was pretty legit.
uh and I’m wearing my semi dress again…figured I might as well get my money’s ($4) worth.
