Packing for trips always give me a bit of anxiety. Of course, there are the typical questions (i.e. What if I forget something? What if I don't pack the right things for the weather?) but for me, it's more than that. I like to dress in the moment based on how I'm feeling right then, so trying to plan ahead and pack for the future is really hard, no matter how long I'm going away for.
The thing I've found to help alleviate some of the stress is to bring a handful of neutral-colored pieces that can be mixed and matched with ease. Black and white are my normal go-to colors, anyway, so of course that's what I packed when I went to Sacramento last weekend. Also in my suitcase was a plethora of different colored tops that gave me choices when it came time to pick the right one to fit my mood.
