Loosely inspired today by Alexander Wang’s spring collection. When I put together a “designer-inspired” outfit, it’s usually not so much based on the actual looks as the idea of the collection and the overall style. In this case, it was a sort of sporty, grungy, tomboyish coolness (note the crop top.) I had some sheer bright blue fabric, black mesh, and other materials I wanted to play around with for a stronger resemblance to the collection…but you know how it is. You’re getting dressed with 5 minutes to spare and you can’t be late to history class because you’re late every day and your teacher may or may not hate you already…so the final outfit is a bit more toned down and rough around the edges, rather than having every detail worked out.
Also, I wore flats today because these heels are so difficult to walk in, but I liked having an extra 5 inches of height for my photos. Just so you all know.
The dress in the last photo has nothing to do with today’s outfit, but I couldn’t not mention it. Seeing a picture of Alice Dellal wearing this dress was the initial inspiration for my semi dress.

I just love this one.
