one sartorial trick i keep under my sleeve is reverting to the little girls’ section of the department store. with an endless array of frilly princess dresses, i am 5 years old again doing half hearted cartwheels barefoot on the front lawn.

what’s that you say? except now i have boobs, ma! well no worries, with a little handiwork and some cheeky metallic fabric, try giving your girly dresses a more grown-up silhouette by replacing the bodice (or at least chopping off those puff sleeves in favor of a quick bleach black treatment). et voila, a bouncy little picnic-in-the-park worthy number. coupled with that old high school denim jacket and some hardware to balance things out, and you’re good to go.
