I’m sharing the second look with my DIY tulle skirt and for this one, I dressed it down a bit and went for a more rocker look. While the two looks are total opposites, they both feel very me as I love to experiment with different styles :)
The t-shirt I’m wearing is no ordinary t-shirt. I purchased it through Project Boost, a company that “helps raise funds for community causes by selling custom designed, cause specific shirts. Buy a shirt. Boost awareness. Make a difference.”
This particular t-shirt was designed for Kaitlin’s Hideout, a local, grass roots organization that provides a “play center for children with autism and other special needs, as well as an informational, social and emotional support source for families of special needs children.”
Having a cousin who is autistic, I truly appreciate the efforts of Kaitlin’s Hideout and was eager to support them. The concept of the shirt came from the idea that “we all have different abilities, challenges, dispositions and views of the world we live in, so do those with autism. We should Embrace Unique.” And so, with the help of the children from Kaitlin’s Hideout and some creative design, Project Boost created and sold this unique t-shirt, raising almost $1200 for Kaitlin’s Hideout!
