When I say the words “Canadian Tuxedo” what comes to mind? For me it’s Justin Timberlake and Britney Spears’ iconic night at the AMAs in 2001 in matching head to toe denim ensembles. Please no one think about breaking that denim cowboy hat out again, it still gives me chills to this day. But the Canadian Tuxedo can be a show stopper; IF it’s done correctly. Few things to keep in mind: 1. Don’t wear the same color top as you do bottom. Mix up the hues, for a dapper look. 2. Opt for updated washes, i.e. not whiskering on the thighs or overly distressed looks. 3. Lastly don’t over do it on the accessories, revisit Justin Timberlake’s denim hat if you’re confused, the double denim look says enough by itself. Or maybe you want to mix it up a little like I did, dress it down per say. I chose a floral print denim shirt to go under the pull over; the pink flowers tie back to the sweatshirt, and the denim of the shirt is a lighter hue than my pants like we talked about. It was a bad hair day, so I threw it all up in a beanie and called it a day. All in all – very simple easy to put together outfit that’s something different than the norm.
