wizardsofthewest 's thoughts:

The blue denim looked worn, with frayed edges at the bottom of the legs and sections of fabric torn away. It had four pockets, two in the back and two on the sides, and one of the side pockets was decorated with multicolored scraps of fabric that formed a dark rainbow. A matching patch fit neatly onto the waistband in the back. Below the pocket, a series of symbols were also patched on, and they lent the shorts a mysterious air, as if there was more to them than met the eye.

Falele could have cheered out loud if she hadn’t been afraid of drawing attention to herself and bringing doom upon the Silent Merchants. To think that one of their old relics had not only survived the times, but made it into the hands of someone willing to sell it to her. She bought it as quickly as she could without betraying her excitement. Articles of clothing like these shorts had once belonged to the Guardians and their allies, and it had taken a lot to track them down. She had almost turned back when she realized the trail was taking her toward the Wild, but it had proved well worth the risk.
