There’s actually a funny story behind the first time I put on this dress and by funny I mean incredibly unfortunate. Instead of clear skies and sun, the forecast was thunderstorms and rain. Of course hailing a cab in rainy weather is impossible and as these were desperate times I resorted to the subway. Beautified with my Zara heels, Fendi Clutch, and Clover Canyon dress I humbly waited for the NQR downtown to Union Square among curious tourists with wandering gazes.
Naturally as any classy fashion woman knows: never be early, never be late, but arrive just in time to make a bold entrance – which is exactly what happened. Simon Collins, dean of Parsons School of Fashion, had taken the stage, the graduates were seated and I was clickity-clack-clacking down the aisle leaving a trail of rainwater behind me until finally finding a seat. Seeing this unfortunate situation one of my teachers approached me; “I always carry three handkerchiefs; one for myself, one for family, and one for my friends. So this one, my dear, is for you.”
So there I was, on one of the most important days of my life frantically trying to dry this beautiful dress with an even more amazing Italian silk hanky.
