SKYHIGHSTYLE 's Thoughts:

I stayed in Wellington for a few days and it was great! I went up for an art exhibition (my photo was included in the show) and visited friends, and basically checked out the city! I haven’t seen much of Wellington before so it was nice to have a cruisey look around.

Wellington is really great for second hand and vintage shops. This pic is taken in the Jet Set Bohemian vintage store, probably my favourite in Wellington so far.

I was surprised at how different Wellingtonians’ sense of style is to us in the South Island, or even the North Island. People dress really artsy and grungey, with a lot of vintage clothes, old jerseys and tough shoes. Especially Doc Marten boots. The amount of David Bain jerseys (or “Bainos” for short) in stores was a bit ridiculous. The amount of women trying on Bainos and serious contemplating how they looked was even more ridiculous. My answer to these jerseys is always going to be no. NO NO NO! Don’t do it ladies, trust me.

I almost bought this hat (possibly a men’s hat, I have a fat head haha) … then changed my mind. It was $80, a pretty serious buy for a hat. My rule is: if you’re not certain, don’t buy it.
