It was love at first sight with this pretty dress: I was looking for a striped dress, and since this year it seems to be the right time due to all the stripes around, I was able to finally find it (but I can’t guarantee I have now stopped with my collection of stripes!). This one was perfect: navy blue with white stripes, sleeveless with some nice large straps and a good neckline, right length, right fit & flare skirt, and made of a jersey fabric which is always flattering.
The buckle bag is vintage, and it comes from my own family! Not only my mom has worn it for years, but recently, when I asked her from where it was from, I discovered it’s actually a bag my aunt Maria has bought in Rome at the start of the 50s when she was a very young and pretty lady. Now, I was happy just by knowing it was my mom’s, discovering it was my aunt’s bag instead made me even happier! A Roman Holiday bag! A Dolce Vita bag! I can feel it was well loved by my aunt, and by my mom as well whom picked it up in the 80s and used it many times herself as well – I can clearly remember her with this bag, we even have proof of it in some photos! A sixty years old bag and you won’t tell it is that old, things from the past were so sturdy and well made that it looks like new. Oh how I love vintage.
