n all honesty, it doesn’t take a lot to entertain me.
It goes without saying, that it doesn’t take a lot to bore me… as well.
What a paradox right? But there’s logic in it, really. Since I get bored easily, even as a young child mind you, I had to learn how to be resourceful and find amusement in the most random of things. It was either that or succumb to insanity by boredom, and I very much fancied being grounded in the real world.
So I turned to creativity and imagination to get me through–I pored over countless number of books (I read encyclopedias and thesauruses on my spare time), I sketched through fresh new sheets (and walls), filled in every single line of composition notebooks with the fictional characters I fashioned before I went to sleep every night, and I listened to tons of music (alternative rock and pop). Like I said, my tween stage was pretty simple for me.
I guess that’s practically why I don’t really get fazed that easily. I’ve had such an extensive experience entertaining myself that when a challenging situation arises, I always manage to keep my cool and just find something to keep me entertained, occupied, and grounded.
