This has been such a fun week in saskatoon with summer festivals everywhere :D I was pretty much camped out at the free stage of Jazzfest and came across some amazing (mostly Canadian) bands whom I love and some I had never heard before! I was even given a few free tickets from kind strangers!!!I would recommend Andy Shauf (broken heart sort of story telling folk), Red Baraat (bhangra jazz funk), five alarm funk (a sort of gypsie rhythm pirate jazz), DJ Herbalizer (trip hop jazz?), Micheal Franti (reggae pop) and my favourite, City and Colour (not really jazz at all).
The shorts I am wearing are so cute with floral, lace and metal buttons which I painted with nail polish to hide the tacky gold. I found them at a consignment boutique, and they are handmade by someone!!! I was so excited to find something that so much love and creativity was put into, I told the cashier- and strangely enough she apologized to me saying they must have slipped past a few people. She was implying they only sell brand names. But if you ask me, I would rather show off the talent of a local designer any day.
The shirt is a DIY braided open back project I saw on pintrest last summer and love. Layers of socks seem to be my trademark lately, and I can’t wear my grunge boots enough.
Festival vibes, listening to City and Colour, trading poi tricks and picnic blankets under the stars. See more photos from my beautifully talented friend in Saskatchewan Mela Photography
