We’re back again with your weekly digest of things on the web that you should’ve read this week. The weather has been looking up, and we don’t want you on the web all day, so we’re here to save you some time. Always lookin’ out for our Chictopians.

If you’ve been lagging a bit on current events, but have noticed that Macklemore’s “Same Love” is getting a crazy amount of radioplay, we’re here to clarify. As of 6/26, the Supreme Court has ruled in a 5-4 vote in U.S. v. Windsor to extend federal benefits to legally-married same sex couples. SF Pride has another thing to celebrate this weekend!
The name, Leighton, seems to have quite the luck streak. Leighton Meester is a household name, but have you heard of Leighton Antelman? No? Well, he’s ½ of the duo that is The Cinema. Leighton and Matt Malpass formed the band in 2011, and they’ve just finished tracking their latest album. While we wait for the album to drop, listen to The Cinema “Kill It” on a breakout track. Pun intended.
Shenanigans on the Interwebz
How many of your grew up on Lizzy McGuire? Ah, what a spitting image of the trials of adolescence it depicted. Not only was if full of life lessons, but also fashion cues. This article gives a lovely run down of the styling genius that has appeared on the show. Thanks Lizzy.
Food for Thought
Caprese salads are great for lighter days, but sometimes you just want some good ‘ol starchy carbs to go along with your greens. The solution: panzanella salad. It’s basically caprese, with a hearty dose of baked/fried Italian bread. Yum.
Our love for turbans live on. Keep the frizz under control, while adding some pizazz with one of these headwraps. Use them to color block like deathbyplatforms, to monochrome like dailytutliputli, or as an accent piece like magpie_girl.
In The Chictopia Office
Our resident music guru has filled us in that Andrew Wyatt of Miike Snow is going to be DJ-ing at the Mezzanine next month. For those readers 21+ up who are going to be in SF late July (July 26th to be exact), this is defintitely a DJ set you want to catch. You can get tickets here.
We hope you’re all having a fabulous start to the summer season. Soak up the sun, and we’ll see you all next week!
