Gosh, it’s been quite a while since I last did one of these outfit posts, and during my absence quite a lot has happened! First and foremost I finished my exams, which was the main reason for my recent hiatus. Seeing as my three-month summer break has officially started I’ll be able to post much more frequently. In fact, this should also be the case when I start college in September and finally bid adieu to my old school uniform. Secondly, I was featured in my local newspaper! If you follow me on Instagram you may have already seen me post about this, but if not you can see a photo of it here. I was incredibly excited and overwhelmed to be contacted by the newspaper to be interviewed, and I’m very pleased with how the feature turned out! In other news, this week I started work experience at Marks And Spencer, working with the visual merchandising team. It’s interesting having the opportunity to get a behind the scenes glimpse and observe the hard work that goes into making the stores look presentable and visually appealing to consumers. I also returned from a trip to Edinburgh last week, which you may have seen in my photo diary. Finally, I have added an Ask.fm widget to the sidebar of my blog, so if you have any niggling questions feel free to hit me up over there! I’d also love to hear your opinions of my new header!
Now let’s talk about my outfit. I more or less threw on the blouse and skirt when I got in from work, as I wanted to wear something light and breezy because of today’s humidity. Conscious I hadn’t done an OOTD in yonks, I quickly put together a few accessories to accompany my outfit and snapped these photos. I recently went shopping for more summery clothes, and this skirt from Urban Outfitters was among my purchases. I picked it up for around £15 in a 50% off promotion they were having, which I think is still on if you’re interested. I rarely buy full-priced clothes in Urban Outfitters because it’s a little out of my price range, so I’m always delighted to pick up bargains in their sales. As for my blouse, I bought it last summer in a charity shop in Cornwall, and I only just rediscovered it nestled in the back of my wardrobe. I’m an absolute sucker for paisley print and airy fabrics, so it’s perfect for me! I love how it contrasts with the print on my skirt and I think the colours really compliment each other nicely, tying in with the bohemian aesthetic. Speaking of clothing nestled in the back of my wardrobe, I’ll be selling many of my vintage pieces on Asos Marketplace soon, so keep your eyes peeled for that! I’m also considering starting a YouTube channel, albeit I’m struggling to decide where to start, so if you have any video suggestions please leave them in the comments below, tweet me or message me on Ask.fm (links are in the sidebar).
Hugs and kisses, Sarah xo
