I arrived in Paris on Thursday morning to visit my friend Nicole. After an 8 hour flight from DFW—→ CDG (my most flown route) she whisked me away to a poetry reading that evening. It felt like I was in something out of the movie Midnight in Paris.
Located in the 11th arrondissement, a quite little room was tucked away on a side street. The atmosphere was calm, and all the people had their own sense of style- a very original/creative bunch. After that, we all went out for drinks to enjoy the rest of the night.
Luckily, this morning the sun came out (coincidently as June 1st hit the calendar today). I threw on my polka-dot dress, my new leather jacket, espadrilles (so frenchy), andddddd my fabulous hat! I am SO in love with hats and this one is just too adorable. Hat’s add the finishing touch to an outfit and allude such sophistication.
Nicole and I wandered around my favorite part of Paris, Trocadero & Champ de Mars. The buildings are so white, the landscaping is immaculate, the Eiffel Tower visible from every corner- it’s just so classy! I would compare it to the upper east side of New York. One day I will own an apartment here with the Eiffel Tower sparkling every night in my window.
Tomorrow we will be sketching in the Tuileries, and water color painting along the River Seine. Hopefully the sunshine is here to stay!
Ta-taa for now,
