I’ve mentioned a few times how I have been on the hunt for a long pencil skirt. Originally I was searching for a leather one but I just couldn’t find one that fit me perfectly and ended up sending a few back. I decided that with summer just around the corner a jersey one could be a possibility too and finally found one on Asos that worked – and was a fraction of what I was going to spend in the first place. So here it is – a perfectly straight silhouette that I toughened up with a moto jacket worn as a top. (Jackets as tops work out perfectly on those in-between California nights when it’s kinda cold but not really.)
Really diggin this fresh silhouette in my wardrobe – gives an updated feel to simple things like tanks and tees – and I think I am so committed to this shape that I already bought a second skirt that looks the exact same but is made in a neoprene-ish material. How can I say no to neoprene? Plus, this particular neoprene-ish skirt from H&M Conscious and was one the contenders during my skirt hunt over the last three months. I swore I saw it at my near-by H&M when I was still determined for a leather one. When I decided I neoprene would make me just as happy, I called to the store to put it on hold. The salesrep insisted they didn’t have any skirt from the Conscious line and pretty much thought I was insane and seeing things. So when I found it, I had to have it second skirt or not. To that rude sales rep – I told you so.
