The thing that has surprised me the most about taking on color head-on is how easy it actually is to coordinate. I used to think that all black was the easiest, but turns out it’s also a really easy way to get mistaken for a makeup artist (not always a bad thing) or a mime (more of a bad thing). And even then, you still run the risk of having your blacks not match – which is obviously a horrific fashion crime that should be avoided at all costs (There is a Monk marathon on T.V. as I write this, so I’m feeling a little dramatic and a touch finicky – remind me to tell you about the time I once met Tony Shalhoub. He has incredible skin btw, the man is poreless.)
Ok. Back to the topic on hand. One of the easiest colors to coordinate might be cobalt blue. It has a ton of primary partners, works with neutrals, complements any neon and can anchor most pastels. It also looks great with my current color obsession, a coral-tinged tangerine that I’m convinced can flatter any skin tone.
