You can call it whatever you like—the Mondays, the pits, a funk or the moos —but everyone knows that feeling you get when you wake up certain mornings with a total lack of inspiration. It makes you want to turn off your alarm clock and sleep away the doldrums, but sometimes you’ve got to pull yourself up and get on with the day.
But guys—resist the gym pants! You don’t want to start a terrible snowball effect where you start dressing blah because you feel blah and you’ll then act blah because you’ve got on a blah outfit. Bad blahtitude all around :(
So here’s what you do:
Comfort comes first
At least for me, gross days are usually going to be filled with running around and being tired so the last thing I want to put on is something tight and restricting. I like slouchy tops in interesting shapes (and cuffed boyfriend jeans) for something that feels good on, but doesn’t look pajama-y.
Accessorize smartly
A well placed statement necklace and a comfortable trendy shoe will instantly make an outfit much more interesting. You can get away with wearing plain pieces if you’ve got the accessories to punch your look up.
Be strategic
Too tired to shower? Then it’s the perfect time to don that new hat you’ve been wanting to wear or tie on a headscarf a la Prada ‘07. Couldn’t possibly take off your sleepshirt? If you dare, pull on a jersey mini underneath and top it off with a blazer. No time for makeup? Wear some sunglasses. People will look at you funny indoors, but at least you can shoot them stinkeyes from behind your shades and they’ll never know.
And lastly
Plan ahead
On non-blah days, start thinking ahead about emergency combinations and pieces that’ll look good regardless without much effort. When your brain feels like cotton and you’ve got five minutes to dress, you’re going to thank yourself for coming up with something beforehand.

LOVE!
