So far, I’ve only posted images from shoots I’ve done because I happened to have them on hand. I’ve been wanting to post daily outfits, but I’ve just been too lazy to figure out the lighting with my point-and-shoot up until now. Thanks to my clean living room and the tripod I MacGyvered, I finally got around to it this afternoon, and will try to do so more often in the future.
Being hump day and all, I think I tend to dress up a little more on Wednesdays than other days. It’s a little extra something to get me through the longest day of the week (literally — I’m in class from 830am to 950pm with a break for lunch). The other little something extra? Lots of coffee.
Anyway, today’s outfit is also a testament to how much can be done on a budget. It’s not only us starving artists who are pinching pennies these days.
* J. Lindeberg Extra Long Juliette Skinny Five Pocket jeans (aka. most rad-tastic [discontinued :(] denim in the world ever): On sale for $60 marked down from $280
* Some cheap JC Penny l/s acrylic sweater: A gift.
* Banana Republic Monogram lace overlay tunic: On sale for $24, marked down from a whole lot more.
* Kimchi & Blue s/s cardigan: $13 at Buffalo Exchange
* Fioni (that’s fancy for Payless, for those of you unacquainted with realistic budgeting) black pumps: On sale for $9. This is my second pair, as I wore the first into the ground.
* Anna Sui lip gloss ring: A freebie given to me by someone who attended fashion week years ago.
So, the whole deal cost me about a hundred bucks, which is one-tenth the cost of a pair of Louboutin pumps, and one-onehundredth the cost of an Hermes Birkin bag. Just because the economy is in the crapper doesn’t mean our ability to dress stylishly should follow.
What do you do to keep your wardrobe updated on the cheap?

so cute!
