The Langham building is an absolute stunner. The magnificent facade is at the corner of Portland Place and Regent Street and has a quiet confidence that entices people to enter into a world where time seems to have stopped. It’s true of most London establishments, but this is one enchanted place where you can enjoy afternoon tea as if you were part of the Victorian high society. If you are ever in search for the quintessential English feel, the Langham is a captivating resting spot.
From the moment I opened the package, I was completely in love. The off the shoulder, fitted bodice and tight tulle underlay come together so perfectly in this dress and gave me flashbacks from my prom nights. Prom is such a romantic event in any girl’s teenage years. My proms were at the Four Seasons in Tokyo which is not as grand in terms of architecture compared to the Langham, but definitely the most romantic setting with its famous firefly garden. I have amazing memories from my proms but I can’t deny the fact that what I enjoyed the most was everything to do with the dress. I remember it was such an experience or almost like a rite of passage into adulthood. That ordeal of trolling through magazines for inspiration, finding the ‘it’ dress and getting ready for the night still brings back excitement and butterflies. This dress would have been totally perfect back then. But would I give up my memories of the dress hunt? Definitely not. And besides, I get to make new memories wearing it out now.
