A thrift shop rolling stones fan t-shirt I cut myself, matched with an h&m bandage skirt.
The shirt I’m wearing is actually my first thrift shop piece.
As a fashion lover / student on a budget I’m always looking for ways to put together trendy/stylish outfits without spending a lot of money.
I forced myself to step into a thrift shop with my cousin, and I kept repeating to myself. ‘’Everyone does this, even celebrities and famous
bloggers, it can’t be that bad’’ Since it was my first time going to a thrift shop I didn’t really know what to expect. When I was younger I would always associate thrift shops with words like ’’icky’’ and ’’unsanitary’’ and the thought of walking around in a piece of clothing that used to belong to a person that might be dead, or sick would always freak me out. And it really didn’t help that
the first thing that struck me when I forced myself to keep an open mind, open the door and for the first time walk into a thrift shop was a really musty smell.
It took me less than 5 minutes to start running around finding piece after piece of really cheap vintage basics. All of a sudden I forgot all about the musty smell, the unsanitary and icky thoughts I used to have about thrift shops and every negative thought I’ve had about it. I was so happy I forced myself in there, I felt like I found a freaking vintage/retro treasure chest. I walked out of the thrift shop that day with an amazing first time experience and a brand new wardrobe :) So s/o to those who haven’t tried this yet, my advice is that you really should force yourself to try it.
