I suppose this look was just an amalgamation of textures and materials—suede, velour, faux leather, and tweed. I’ve kind of been living in these trousers (I have a pair in this burgundy shade and one in black) for some weeks now. Which I’m totally okay with, as it’s comfortable and warm. Similarly, I’ve been reaching for this lovely tweed body and leather sleeve jacket. I’ve always liked tweed, as I think that it is very classic. However, if you feel that tweed is too mature or matronly, I highly advise that you test the waters out with a mixed-material piece; leather is such a sharp yet perfect contrast to tweed.
Also, how perfect are these Sam Edelman ankle boots? I’ve been looking for flat ankle boots for comfortable walking for quite awhile, and these are pretty perfect. So perfect that I joyously went romping around in the wooded areas of a nearby park in celebration of spring… and uh, promptly had an FML moment as I remembered that I had forgotten to take my Claritin for that day. Spring allergies, particularly mine, are a killer!
