This outfit made an appearance on a recent date with Mr. Brass Knuckles. It was the perfectly classy look for a classy place in Chicago that serves cocktails that take 15 minutes to make by bartenders who look like they’re from the 1800’s.
The peplum top is one of my faves. It was originally an 80’s dress with a voluminous bubble skirt that I bought at the Park Slope Beacon’s Closet years ago. I never wore it because it was simultaneously too tight yet also made me look like a marshmellow. Then one day I cut the skirt off and woila.
I was on the hunt for a leather skirt and this one by Boundary & Co. has box pleats, giving it a ladylike look. It’s also a good length… though after giving this photo a second glance I have to say the entire outfit is a bit puffy and I look like an ewok.
