Is it spring yet? We’re “oh so” over winter already! No need to wait until the first official day of spring to start indulging in the season’s trends. Read on for our hair and beauty roundup!
It was quite the debacle trying to put our finger on one hairstyle trend this season. Thus we’re embracing multiple decades and taking cues from both the 80s and 90s. Looks like we’ll be officially witnessing the reemergence of the iconic 80s crimped-do! Make like Thakoon with a smooth top and kinky ends. Or go whimsical with a undone crimped updo al la Badgley Mischka!
Now if you’re not into big hair, have no fear! Channel that 90s grunge chic with a defined middle part and sleek tresses. And for the ultimate no-fuss-do, pull everything back into an Alexander Wang-esque low pony! Looks like I’ll be saying buh-bye to my top-knot for a bit!
Bold brows have once again taken center stage as a beauty must-have. For those of us who’ve tweezed ours almost to the point of extinction, fear not! There’s still hope to achieve a statement brow that could (potentially) rival those of Cara Delevingne. (Cara’s brows even have their own Twitter page!) Invest in a brow grooming kit and educate yourself on the ins-and-outs of proper brow maintenance.
Looks like we can ease up on the nail art designs this season and return to the days of simpler digits. Nude nails at Derek Lam and Donna Karan were a reminder that sometimes less-is-more. And personally I’m relived to be taking a sabbatical from the nail design craze. Time to get back to the basics ladies!
Apologies to the diehard lipgloss gals out there! Lip-wise the consensus is… matte pouts for spring. With lovely matte pouts such as the scarlet lips at Burberry, Giles’ fuchsia or Missoni’s vibrant coral, it looks like we’re off to Sephora to stock up on some new tints. And remember, for the ultimate long-lasting lip opt for a liner and lipstick combo!
Did we miss anything? Which spring trends are you most looking forward to? We want to hear!
