my salon (g squared in soma, SF) offers free bang trims if you are a previous client, but that is always a great tip for DIY! Nicely done!

WOW! I just laid hands on my bangs yesterday and now they look like a rat nibbled them for me. Will try your trick as soon as they are longer again!!!! Thanks for this!

hey! I have curly hair as well. This works fine, just make sure your hair is dry and straightened, makes sense since you'd prob wear your bangs straight anyway. just dont do it on wet hair..it'll come out shorter than you want :/

bangs for curly hair is always questionable. you should talk to your stylist first!

Haha, yesterday I was just wondering whether to cut my bangs on my own... today everyone is recommending how :) BTW I did cut them - saved some bucks and nerves to wait for an appointment!

How to trim your own bangs   Add as Favorite Photo

Comfortable Style, best suited for a Everyday
Jul 07, 2008

I think I learned this trick from CosmoGirl or Teen Vogue back in High school. It’s quick, easy and most importantly, free!

My hair already grows pretty fast and if I were to get my bangs trimmed at the salon every 2 weeks, it would definitely add up!

First picture is of my bangs pre-trim.

Then, what you do is gather it all up and twist the hair into a point in the middle of your nose. Using your scissors cut straight across. Cut maybe a quarter of an inch at a time or even less to be sure, so you don’t end up with bangs in the middle of your forehead!

Release hair, and voila! Perfectly cut straight bangs! Trim a few stray hairs away and you’re done!

Easy right? Now you go try!

xoxo,
lindarrr
