I can tell you what I would of said that week in December what my least favorite style of fashion was. I would of told you it was Boho/bohemian. I don’t like the hippie patterns the loose fits the colors, I am starting to like earthy things like Mori Girl now but I didn’t know that when I saw this dress it would change my perspective.
Its got a zipper back it’s got faux pearls all over it,hanging beads and what caught my eye is that it was from Indonesia. It was in the vintage section and I tried it on an fell in love My cousin desperately tried to get me to put it back because my boobs are a little large for the cut but ever since I bought this beautiful dress I’ve had a little obsession about Indonesian women.
I Googled some information and saw it’s a country that has many different religions mostly Muslim and I found this fashion shot of this beautiful Indonesian woman with her scarf on top of her head kind of like I did posing in a high fashion shot in the sunset in a beautiful mini yellow dress.
The dress made me want to dance. I was dancing in the pics and the headpiece moved from pic to pic. I couldn’t move much because it was so so cold despite what I was wearing and I was self taking pictures with a tripod.
This is part of blog one. Since I wanted to do something Muslim inspired I picked this handmade scarf from Mexico my mom bartered for me. It’s striking with the crimsons on the dress and my lipstick. The shoes were secondhand from a very nice middle eastern woman, I thought they went well with the outfit. I had a real silver hammered choker from Mexico on but I think it fell off in the shoot.
So even if i had limited amount of money and my cousin tried and tried to get me to put this back, there was only one and I knew I would regret it. I passed on a blue velvet Russian hat at an estate sale and until this day I regret not getting it.
