Drawing inspiration from bloggers like you, Stacey Bendet, the designer behind the celebrity-adored Alice + Olivia, has created a line that takes street style into the fantasy realm. For the Alice + Olivia Fall/Winter 2013 collection, Bendet envisioned what a free-spirited Alice + Olivia girl would look like in everyday wear, perusing the streets of Paris.
With rich textures and deep hues from burgundy to gold, Stacey Bendet manages to create an element of sophistication in an otherwise fun and eclectic collection. She mixes prints that resemble intricate Persian rugs from the 17th century with metallic and lace. And the prints don’t stop there; From baroque and stripes to argyle and plaid, prints of every kind made their way into this collection.
Theme “Fantasy Street Style” The tables are turned as the Alice + Olivia F/W ’13 collection takes inspiration from street style itself. The looks in this collection vary as much as the personal style of the bloggers and celebrities who’s street style inspires us daily; A voluminous lace baroque gown, a rich mixed-print pantsuit, a slouchy matching gray top and skirt and a high waist tuxedo jumpsuit are all fair game for this collection. With such a broad inspiration, what keeps the collection as a whole from looking schizophrenic is the free-spirited and whimsical aesthetic that is so distinctive in Alice + Olivia’s designs.
