Taking a cue from icons like Anna Dello Russo, this Polish fashion blogger’s style is flamboyantly chic. Dressed in contrasting, bold colors and extravagant headpieces, Tamara Perea or better known as Macademian Girl, possesses a style like no other. More art than a science, Tamara’s experimentation in brights and statement pieces has no room for trial and error as she perfects each outfit. Let’s just say that this gal is the true epitome of live art. We’re truly happy to have her for this month’s Style Icon interview!
We love how you put together bold, bright pieces for every outfit that you wear. How would you describe a typical “Macademian Girl” outfit?
Bold, colorful and electric.
We’re curious, how did you come up with the blog name, Macademian Girl? Was it your fond for the nut that influenced the name?
Yes, that’s right! They’re my favorite kind and it suits my skin-tone, besides and I really like the sound of that word.
How has your own culture (we noticed you have a Spanish last name), combined with living in Poland influenced your overall style?
I was born and lived my whole life in Poland, but my father was indeed from Panama. I think that I got the crave for vivid [Latin] colors in my blood ;).
Most people only know the country, Poland, for one thing: Polish hot dogs! In what ways do you see your country also fashionable compared to other high-fashion countries?
Realy? Hot dogs? But isn’t that like American food? [The] fashion industry in Poland is really young, but I think that [it’s just as promising.] We’re also known for our famous supermodels like Anja Rubik and Monika Jagaciak. We have some really lovely girls here!
What was your memorable feature/project thus far?
Being rewarded by Fashion Magazine as the Blogger of The Year 2012 – for me it’s a pretty big deal and an honour!
We love your signature makeup: a dewy face with eyeliner and bold lippie! What are your favorite makeup must-haves?
As you probably noticed – eye-liner is always a must-have with me! But I think that I’m gonna go for some colored ones this Spring/Summer 2013 season. Maybe we’ll see how that’s gonna work out.
Chictopia showcases fashion, but did you know we also sell fashion? What are you top 7 items from Chictopia Shop?

We know that many Chictopia Style Icons are friends with each other. Who’s your buddy in Chictopia/or who would you like to be friends with and why?
I’m a friend and a huge admirer of MERI_WILD – we know each other in a real life too!
Obviously we know you love Anna Dello Russo, but who else’s closet would you like to raid for a day?
Anna Piaggi and Lady Gaga – both for sure ;)!
