So much for my new resolution to dress in more color. After Fashion Week, I was suffering from a bad case of noir fatigue after seeing hordes and hordes of women trotting about in head to toe black ensembles. And while black is eternally chic in my book, I was looking forward to splashing on a bit of color—BECAUSE, i realized, the thing I loved most about black was that it allowed you to dress in crazy shapes and textures and after seeing Susie Bubble and Julia Frakes killing it in printed Peter Pilatto and Topshop in NY, I realized that I could still do what I loved without dressing in monochrome.
But the thing is, I don’t HAVE printed Peter Pilatto and Topshop and sometimes when it’s 8:00am and you’ve already mistaken your eyeliner for your toothbrush and have managed to put on your tights inside out and backwards, you reach for the thing to match your “I hate morningtime” mood.
Black. Black. And a little more black.
But check the little pop of yellow I have under the shirtdress. It’s something, right? I’m totally crushing on Garance ’s most recent post on lemon yellows—Susie and the Teen Voguettes look absolutely darling.
So this unfortunately means that I’m going to have to do some more shopping for colorful pieces (oh damn). I’ll keep you all updated on my purchases :)
