Kenneth Howard aka Von Dutch was the originator of “Kustom Kulture” and modern pinstriping. He was a special guy with some very special talents. His artistic style is often imitated but never replicated. He had a quite wit and a BIG personality.
Although cars and motorcycles were his passion, he has a great sense of style. He took his art and transposed it on shirts, denim, and even made his own metal molds for apparel of his famous “The Flying Eye”. Between his art and fascination with German culture and inventions, he had his own style.
Today the Von Dutch name lives on through the company Groupe Royer who bought the brand a few years back. Since Royer bought the company it has really grown and gone back to the roots of the brand; the roots that are Kenneth Howard’s. Kenny’s passion for art and individuality live on through what is Von Dutch today.
We are excited to tell the story of Von Dutch’s fashion and art through this month that we’ve named Fashion February here at Von Dutch HQ in Los Angeles, CA.
Stay tuned for more.
