It was a particularly windy day, down by the pier at St Kilda beach, and I worried these images weren’t going to come out well at all as it turns out peplum tops, loose pants and gusty wind don’t work well together at all!
That being said, I love love love this outfit as you’ll find out lace is kind of a big thing with me, and these pants are as much a dream to wear, as they are to look at. Between these and the Bowie Pant, Maurie and Eve can claim pant royalty as far as I’m concerned.
I feel the biggest accomplisment of this outfit is the ability of say ‘summer’ without also saying ‘skin’. I don’t think a girl has to dress in next to nothing to be cool and fit for summer, I’d much rather wear a loose fit pair of pants than short shorts and day! My shoes I’ve already discussed in another post, and clearly I’m a fan. The Wang is a favourite of mine coughnotactuallyminebutborrowedfromteresacough and i think it pairs well with the darkness of the shoes and contrast well the overwhelming brightness of the clothes themselves. The lipstick is a new love of mine and a shinier colour than I’d usually don (I tend to steer clear of shin in favour of matt finish), but matches perfectly the design of the pants.
