that was one of the first fashion design related books i had ever read! it's a nice, informative light read. if you're looking for its big sister, try the entrepreneur's guide to sewn product manufacturing by kathleen fasanella. it's like a real talk designer bible ;) p.s., thumbs up for nautical themes!
