So what is “vernalization”? According to wikipedia: “Vernalization (from Latin: vernus, of the spring) is the acquisition of a plant’s ability to flower or germinate in the spring by exposure to the prolonged cold of winter.”
We think that this is a pretty perfect concept to go with this outfit, which hides a pop of color and springy floral pattern under warm layers of black wool and leather. There are those who choose to wear a brightly colored coat in winter to brighten up the dreary days, and then there are those who choose to keep their precious colors secreted away, hibernating under the dark outerwear of winter. We’re just glad that Jen shared some of her day-brightening inner layers with us!
