New Year's Eve, Second Empire Style

A beautiful dress – like, for example, this backless beauty from the Edita Collection {currently for sale at Inspirare} – deserves a fabulous party in a beautiful location. I had no big plans for New Year’s Eve this year, so I decided to make a visit to one of my favourite places; the Napoleon Apartments in the Louvre. Naturally, if I had had the opportunity to ring in the New Year with the Bonaparte family in 1859, I would have undoubtedly chosen a very different dress for the occasion. {I suspect I would also have been allowed to sit on the furniture, rather than simply admiring it from behind a velvet rope.} But it’s 2013, and I chose to dress accordingly.
