Welcome to 2013! Can you believe it? As always the holidays flew by with barely enough time to catch my breath. I wasn’t able to take additional time off during the holidays so I tried to fit everything in on my off days. Considering a trip back to SC with 2 sides of my family to visit plus my sister and grandfather’s birthdays made for a whirl wind experience. Nevertheless, I enjoyed every minute of it and being accompanied by Mr. T was the cherry on top or maybe mistletoe in this case.
There are different needs and expectations for a holiday look. What’s yours? Christmas Eve and Christmas morning is spent at my Dad’s. Then in the afternoon we head to my Mom’s and spend the afternoon and evening there. Both homes are full of people I love and decorated beautifully. Attire is of the casual sort but dressed up a bit. A sparkle here, a flourish there and you’re good to go.
This year I couldn’t stop staring at these adorable corduroy pants from J.Crew. I love a good pant, especially a printed pair and cords are great change from denim. The fact that these have bows all over them just made me smile. I’ve worn these with different pairings on top but haven’t been able to snap pictures of them. A couple people mentioned they loved these but were having a bit of trouble styling them. Maybe I’ll do a couple different pairings to show how I wear them. What do you think?Everyone one needs a white button down no matter your style. Surprisingly you’ll get more mileage from it than most pieces in your closet. This grey sweater kept me cozy plus the animal print belt was perfect for color change and added definition. With fairly basic pieces I needed a little sparkle. These earrings are some of my favorites and I never get tired of wearing them. This necklace was made for me which detaches doing double duty as a bracelet or shorter necklace. Aknot jewelry is amazing and you can order a piece for your exact specifications!
In the end I wanted a little more punch which called for my blue suede shoes. I love them and they’re easily paired with so many things. So what do you think? How would you style these pants? Would I be allowed over for the holidays at your place or kicked out into the cold? The pictures of the decorations are a mash-up of my parents perspective houses. I always look forward to seeing the house all “done up” during the holidays. Now you can see why I’m Bowed Over
