What are you doing New Year’s Eve? What you wear NYE all depends on your plans of course. Over the years my NYE nights have run the gamut from GRAND, EXTRAVAGANT, OVER THE TOP productions to working into the wee small hours of hours of the morning or even falling asleep without acknowledgment of times ticking hands. No offense to Mr. T but my favorite memories of December 31st are from childhood. Spending the night with my grandparents and cousins staying up late, eating treats, setting off firecrackers and watching the ball drop on TV. Dick Clark anyone? There was an innocence during those years and no matter the problem I felt like all was right in the world.
This year a small house party with friends is on the menu which happens to be my favorite big girl way to celebrate. What’s your favorite? I took these pictures while I was home in SC for Christmas but I love this look for a NYE outfit. For smaller gatherings I think it has a perfect amount of sparkle but is a nice change from the principal dress. I thought about wearing a different shirt underneath but denim adds a relaxed, casual element. I adore these shorts! They have a wonderful sheen while the color is unexpected and versatile.
This outfit would be fine without the necklace but I love the extra punch it adds. It’s one of my favorite purchases along with my adored Elvin booties! What do you think? Is this something you’d be happy wearing? The comfort factor on this is a bonus when it comes to dancing. Just give me room to move and I’m ready to go. Plus with shorts and opaque tights there are no worries about getting caught in pictures unawares. Yhatzee!
I hope you have a wonderful New Year’s Eve and best wishes for a bright and EXCEPTIONAL 2013! After all, we did survive the end of the world, right? I’m not perfect and never will be but if steps are taken then growth is possible. Self expression is a gift and your companionship on that journey makes this experience extraordinary for me. Thank you for all your support and bearing with me as I explore the world that is Manners and Moxie.
