A product of WaBags, these textiles are made by highly skilled artisan women who learn this art form of hand embroidery at the early age and continue to perfect different types of hand stitching over the course of their entire lives. Many of these vintage textiles are 5 to 70 years old. The embroidered needlework and cross-stiched textiles were originally made to wear or given as gifts for special celebrations such as weddings or births. Traditional designs are inspired from local landscapes and zoomorphic creatures.
