I bought this dress sometime last year at Ross, chancing upon it during one of my post-work de-stress shopping trips, with the intention of wearing it to a fancy dinner date or something. I was going through a “dress guilt trip” upon realizing that my closet lacked dresses for special occasions, and this was the unfortunate dress that, sadly, never got worn. That is, until I attended a Christmas party for our church group, where I needed to wear a 40s inspired dress since we were doing our own rendition of the holiday favorite “It’s A Wonderful Life.” I was going to wear this gorgeous dress from BCBG that I bought for a cheap $30 but when I tried it on the night itself, it was SO short! Luckily this was in my closet, and voila, I received TONS of compliments that night. I love the cinching at the waist, it made my hips more proportional and was really comfortable even after I gorged on a huge slice of chocolate cake (yes, that’s one of the reasons for my huge hips and I’m fine with that haha). So gals, as you can see, everything has a purpose in life – and this dress’s was to make me feel beautiful even for a night ;)
